At Schnepf Farms it is important to teach children about a real working farm, and teach them where their food comes from. We have been growing vegetables on our farm for 65 years! We are one of last remaining "family-owned" and operated farm in Queen Creek and almost in the valley, so your students will experience first hand what it takes to plant and harvest what we eat.

We have 2 different Tours to Choose From, please continue reading below (WE ARE SOLD OUT FOR NOVEMBER & DECEMBER and BOOKING FOR February, March & April of 2008)

Vegetable Field Trip (very hands on): This tour requires a minimum of 30 people to conduct this tour. When you arrive, our tour leaders will meet you at the bus or in the parking lot. We will divide your classes or group once you arrive. About 40 per group depending on agen and size of children and the number of adults. . Admission for this field trip is $6.00 per person.

The children are with a Schnepf Farms tour leader through the entire time. We have three areas for the tour that each child will get to experience

THINGS THEY GET TO EXPERIENCE:

1. Garden, where they learn about gardening, and then they get to go out and pick fresh vegetables.

2. the petting corral where they learn about farm animals and get to brush our goats, see the chickens, sheep

see a real one, a horse and "Friday" our donkey. (We do have plenty of hand wash sinks at the petting barn for cleanliness.)

3. A guided hay ride where they learn about the farm and it's history.

All children and their parents will end up back at the picnic tables for a light apple snack or some vegetables and lunchtime. The tour will take approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete, so please plan accordingly. We typically will begin the tour time at 10am, and will only book one large school per day.

You may reserve this field trip Tuesday and Wednesday during the month of October; Tuesday through Friday during the month of November and first two weeks in December; and Tuesday through Friday during the months of March and April. Absolutely no field trips are scheduled during the months of January, May, June-September.
